I had to update my review because I've had to rent a car a couple of times from here now.
1) Dirty Cars
I used to rent from Avis and Hertz pretty frequently, and occasionally from Enterprise. So discount was a leap of faith. I don't know if it is not a policy, but should you really rent out a car that is filthy? Recently got a car on a sunday that was dirty! Coffee stains that looked a few days old, dirty on the seats, etc. Thank god it was winter because I had gloves on but it sucked that I was in a rush and didn't want to argue or wait for a car so I took it.
** I do want to give them the benefit that there seemed to be only one guy working and maybe this car just came in, but at any of the other rental agencies I've never had this issue of a dirty car. So from a comparable level, not impressive.
2) No car communication
Discount operates a bit differently where you CANNOT book your car with the location. You HAVE to call the reservation desk. Recently for one of the rentals I booked it with the reservation desk and was assured a car. However, the same day I was supposed to get the car, I was called 2 hrs prior and told that they did not have a car available....I had to scramble to get another one and resorted to a 100$ cab ride vs the rental I was expecting. Definitely left a sour taste in my mouth of Discount.
** Again, trying to be fair, I did book the car 28 hrs prior to when I needed it. But the reservation desk assured me that they had a car in the system.
The staff tries to be helpful but the above aren't excusable imho...
