| - I realize these are on the cheaper end of the scale so it's not going to be fancy, but I didn't expect to be treated so poorly by management.
They started having problems with the water upon our moving in. They posted a sign two days prior to fixing it the first time letting us know the water would be off from 9am until 1pm. Plenty of warning, no big deal. The water didn't end up coming back on until nearly 3 pm. When I called to ask them around 1:30, she had no time frame at all. Okay, whatever, not her fault.
We are now on our third month living here and the water has been shut off for hours at a time without warning at least five additional times. While it has only affected us first hand upon one instance, I must say that they handled it poorly. I went home on my lunch break at 1pm to start laundry. I put my clothes in the machine, pour soap all over my clothes, pay the $1.50 then boom, it isn't working. I call the office and she tells me that it's an emergency repair. I end up finding out that the water was shut off around the same time the day prior to. Clearly that was no surprise emergency. While I'm sure you didn't have much warning, you did have an idea that it would be shut off.
If she would have placed a sign on the laundry room saying "emergency - water off until further notice" I would have not complained. I would have known to not place soap on my clothes. I wasn't able to wash them for a couple hours. It was disgusting. I may not have been nice to her on the phone but she certainly did not care. Management does not live here so they don't give a rat's ass about the residents. I didn't receive an apology only excuses. So I recommended that she at the very least post a sign next time an "energency" happens.
Seriously though, how many emergencies though does it take for them to actually replace the whole system? Also, have they ever heard of email or phone? Contact the residents to let us know. A five minute warning is certainly appreciated to being completely neglected.
I hate how management treats us and that will be the reason I leave upon the end of my lease. I do however really like the apartment itself. I live in the two story townhome and have no complaints. It's spacious and was clean upon moving in. Certainly no complaints there hence my 2 star rating.
