| - I went here because of the glowing reviews on yelp, but was severely disappointed. (I'll tell you, this is the first time I've ever been disappointed by Yelp.) The one star they deserve for the fact that they refunded some of my money when I complained.
First of all, one of the first things I told the hairstylist (Alexa, I believe) when I began talking to her was that I'm trying to grow my hair out, preferably beyond my belly button. Instead, she cut it about 5 inches shorter. When I looked in the mirror after she had started cutting and said that it looked short, she assured me that she hadn't taken anything from the length. I was confused and said that maybe it was my imagination.
Well, I went home and looked at photos of myself to check to see if it was my imagination or not, my hair was actually 2 inches longer 5 months ago (the last time I got a cut, since I'm trying to grow my hair out). Additionally, when looking at photos of myself from 2 weeks ago, my hair was clearly a few inches beyond the lower curve of my bosom. My current hair is about 5 inches shorter than that. (it falls above the top of my breasts) Obviously, it was not my imagination.
Then, the next day after I had I washed my hair and blow-dried it (the hairdresser had curled my hair) and realized that almost all the layers on the right side of my head are a full 2 inches shorter than the layers on the left side of my head.
When I called to complain I was told "We were under the impression that you didn't want your hair particularly even in the first place."
What? Really? REALLY?? Who in their right mind would not want the hair on either side of their head to be of even lengths?
And then when I asked if there was anyone there who could fix this train wreck, I was told I could only get my hair fixed for free by the same person who butchered my hair in the first place. Otherwise, I would have to pay full price for a hair cut.
Right. No thanks.
In the end, they refunded me the $45 for my hair cut and the $20 that I had given in tip, but not the $65 that I had paid for my color. Whatever. I never want to deal with them again.
Two quotes from Kaya that I will never forget, "She didn't really understand the stringy style that you wanted for your hair" (first of all, I did not want my hair stringy. Second of all I had 6 photos, front, back, side, and styled of the hair style I wanted. If she didn't know what I wanted she should have asked further or said she didn't know how to do the haircut)...
and "We were under the impression that you didn't want your hair even in the first place". Yeah.
