  • We have been seeing Dr. Perlstein at this practice for about 5 years now and we love them! First, I have always been able to get last minute appointments every single time. There is nothing worse than having a sick kid and not being able to see a doctor quickly. They also have two waiting rooms, one sick child and one well child. The receptionists can be a little brusque over the phone, but are never rude. They have always been prompt with all of my requests (faxing immunizations, etc). As for Dr. Perlstein, he is excellent. He is definitely unconventional in a few ways, though. First, he acts like a real person and not a stuffy, self important doctor. Next, he actually addresses the child directly, which is important because it's difficult to spot certain areas of concern without actually communicating with the child. Also, it establishes a relationship with the child, which is the actual patient (not the parent). He also has a tendency to pause for long periods of time after he's been given some information. He does this so he can think things through and give a well thought out answer, which I appreciate. He also tends to joke around a lot, but I think pediatrics needs to be a little fun! The thing I love most about Dr. Perlstein is that he has never, ever been wrong. I have never once been given a misdiagnoses from him. I am a researcher and a worrier and I have questioned him on numerous occasions. He has always granted me any extra tests that I've wanted to ease my mind as long as he didn't deem it to be harmful to my child. Every single test has always come back how he said it would. He has always listened to my opinion and has never brushed my concerns off like a lot of doctors do, even though I'm usually wrong. He never rushes the appointment, either. He has even called me a few times himself to get more information to better answer a question or concern. He has also done additional medical research to make sure he is up to date on the latest research pertaining to my child. He truly cares about his patients on a personal level. Dr. Perlstein has some social nuances, but you would be totally missing out on an extremely bright, caring, and capable doctor if you judge him on that too harshly. We love this practice and will never go anywhere else as long as Dr Perlstein practices here!
