| - The Michael-Angelo's in Markham closed down a few months ago. The company cited a lack of parking spaces. I suppose that's what happens when you sell half of your land to LA Fitness and downsize your store size. Folks exercising need to park their cars!
I was sad to see the store go. However, it has relocated to Aurora. Sure, it's a bit of a drive north, but it's still in York region. I visit Aurora once a month, so it's cool.
More importantly, I love the Portuguese custard tarts here. The reunion happened today. I bought them! So yummy and flaky. My ritual of eating one in the car after paying for them took place, continuing my tradition.
The store is large, cheerful, and beautiful. The bakery and seating area are on the left. The heat-and serve meals are in front of the main doors. You take a right and you get to all the hot foods, sandwiches, ice cream, cookies, tea, produce, and more.
I am so happy to shop at Michael-Angelo's again. When it was in Markham, I could never get a Gusto rewards card. The store always seemed to be out. I finally got mine today. Yay! It's free to sign up.
It was pouring rain on my way there. The rain stopped after I finished my shopping. It's a wonderful sign.
