  • My two aunts and I went to Idolize to have our eyebrows waxed by Shilpa. We went on a Friday afternoon when the shop was completely empty. It was just ok. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for ten years and when someone tells me "threading is for cleaning up, not shaping your eyebrow" that lets me know what to expect. True to form, Shilpa cleaned my eyebrows. It was super fast, about a minute and painless. It didn't look like I had my eyebrows threaded but I honestly didn't want to have her touch them further. My eyebrows have different shapes and I've only had one person who was able to do them properly, so with those odds I didn't dare go any further. Now, my aunts were a different story. One of them likes her eyebrows pretty thin, just like the ones featured in this huge poster above the seating area. In spite of my aunt's clear directive that she wanted her eyebrows like that, we had to ask Shilpa over and over to make them thinner and give them that shape. She seemed reluctant because as she put it, once she takes the hair off it cannot be put on again. My aunt always gets her eyebrows thin as she likes it, so it got annoying after the fourth time of insisting that this is REALLY what she wanted. My other aunt was also in the chair for a while until she got the achieved look she wanted. It was a lot less painless with her. I did appreciate though that Shilpa was willing to work with her and that she was cautious about doing too much at once. Overall, I wouldn't come back, not because it is the worst, but I'd rather check out what else Charlotte has to offer.
