  • Was there with my wife Friday, 1/6 between about 10:45-11:20 AM. Holy crap. The employees here. We were universally ignored by everyone, to the point where there had to be effort involved. At one point we were looking at a rack next to four employees no more than six feet from us. None of them acknowledged us, not verbally, or even with a smile or a look. They just talked to each other about how much their boss was making them do. We weren't hiding, we were literally on the other side of a table, and they seemed to have no idea we were there. At one point, a couple of the employees wandered away, and some others came by. They just resumed a new conversation and still made to effort to confirm the fact that we existed. At two separate points, a set of employees came by talking to each other and almost ran into us. That isn't an exaggeration, we had to step out of the way as they came through because they were looking at each other and did not break stride. One of them glanced at us as they passed, so thank god at least I knew we weren't actually invisible, but they kept walking and said and did nothing further. At first I thought it was just us. Like we had somehow insulted them with our presence. But then we saw other customers make eye contact with them, smile, and the employees just turned away. Of the 13 different employees we encountered, NINE treated us like we were abandoned hangers on the ground, of which there were already a few. Of the remaining four, the dressing room attendant did speak to us because she didn't have a choice, we didn't interact with the two cashiers because we didn't want to buy anything, and then, on our way out the door, we passed Mo. Mo is the only reason you get two stars. Because finally, FINALLY in our last few seconds inside the confines of the store, she greeted us with a warm hello and a smile, and asked if there was anything she could do for us. And it reminded me that even when you've given up on everything there are still people who get it.
