  • Three days before Christmas. Store teeming with customers. Ridiculously understaffed at the jewelry counters. Wanted to buy emerald earrings. Waited patiently for a half hour. As others gave up in disgust, I thought I might be getting closer to being helped. Finally gave up. Not even a "be with you in a minute" or a nod from any salespersons. I assume they are not working on commission.
