I have been eyeing this bakery for a while. This place in is a crazy plaza where you have a bunch of eateries, a Tim Horton's with a drive-thru, and a driving test centre with a bunch of nervous folks.
Our department had visited Palmyra Mediterranean House next door for lunch. Afterwards, we all went over to Sitcks N Scones to browse.
I was in heaven looking at the blueberry scones and cupcakes. A couple of items stood out like a sore thumb. They couldn't be ignored, so I bought them:
- A lemon bar
- A slice of Samoa cookie pie
First, I have an affection for anything with lemon in it. Lemon loaf? Yes, please! Lemon in my beverage? Bring it on!. Lemon bar? Of course I must have it.
I had most of it when I returned to the office. I have not said mmm as often as I did eating this lemon bar. It had a buttery crust that wasn't too thick. The lemon was tart and perfect. I didn't mind the powdered sugar. I probably freaked my manager out as my mmm sounds bordered obscene, but I didn't care. It was Friday. Live a little! He had a bit of it and agreed. Amazingly yummy!
I then had the Samoa cookie pie. I lived in the States for a couple of years and got introduced to Samoa girl scout cookies. It has everything that I love -- coconut, chocolate, and a bit of caramel all mixed up in a cookie. This Samoa cookie pie is just that, but larger. It was heavenly!
I only bought two dessert items and they knocked my socks off. So good!
The location is so close to my workplace that I can see an addiction coming on. I'll definitely be back to sample more amazing goodies.
