  • It is not the building itself, but the people that run the building that make it such a rotten place to live. Trash chutes do not work at least twice a week, and almost every entire weekend. And when the chutes don't work, trash piles up. Threatening emails are sent with regard to almost every building policy. When something is broken in the building it takes months and months for them to fix the problem. The building is also not safe. Element Uptown's maintenance people are pathetic. They don't even know how to properly unclog a bathroom sink drain. After I submitted my move-out notice, management tried to change the length of my lease (without my permission) so I could not leave. Despite some fifteen emails over the course of three months since I moved out, my security deposit was never returned despite the lease agreement stating that it is to be returned in thirty days. I still haven't received my security deposit refund despite filing a complaint with the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.
