I was forced to stay here due to no rooms at my usual hotels.
Grin and bear it I guess. Outside the back of the building looks like it was attacked by terrorists. I am serious... Piles of concrete debris pushed up against the walls and plaster falling off everywhere.
Seriously looks like something from a horror film. I arrived at night and was very surprised to see such a mess. I felt uncomfortable maybe their is something really wrong with this neighbourhood, makes it feel creepy.
When I first arrived, I thought the entrance once inside looked quite nice, but when you look closer it's just like lipstick on a pig.
I get the feeling they are trying to renovate what they have without spending too much serious money. Because if they were to spend the kind of money this place needs, it would be really expensive
I get to my room and the bed is really low to the floor and the decor is 1960's frank Sinatra meets Montreal.. Weird furniture, beat up paint job, dirty carpets in the hallway.
But I will say that Carla at the front desk was so polite and spoke such nice English it at least made me feel very welcome.
The bed is a mattress stuck inside an old water bed frame (recipe for bed bugs FYI ) but I did not detect any.
A few nice bits I love the giant rainfall shower head in the shower and the selector knobs are a nice touch. I love some of the weird lighting.
But over all I would not return.
I also found the wifi is not very good or reliable.
