| - I'd been wanting to see a Beatles tribute band for ages, though I refused to go to a local show because the musician who portrayed Paul played the bass right-handed (Is it that hard to learn how to play bass left-handed?). Since this show has been called the "best Beatles tribute band" I had high expectations. Though there was great musicianship and fine harmonies there were some things that, imo, compromised the show. "Paul" did not look at all like Paul McCartney, though he did play left-handed. The other three resembled the other Beatles. I thought George had the most realistic mannerisms, though his black, painted-on eyebrows detracted from his appearance. There was "audience participation" with obvious plants that not only broke the continuity (did the real Beatles ever have it?), but trivialized the show. I would've rather had more music.
When Ringo sang a couple stagehands came out and pushed his drum set to the front of the stage, which also broke the realism. Couldn't a Vegas show have a mechanical pulley?
I was most impressed with the two orchestra crescendos from Sgt. Pepper apparently preformed on two synthesizers.
John's "Imagine" was moving, though his long wig looked cheap, he was wearing dirty white sneakers and the shag carpet covering the platform on which he, and his piano, sat was falling off in some areas. The Ed Sullivan impersonator was a pleasant surprise, though he appeared more docile than the real McCoy.
Despite the flaws, if you're a Beatles fan in Vegas go see the show.
