everyone told me no need to hire an inspector for a new house and I regretted I listened to them. bought my first new house ever in my life but while we were cleaning before we moved in, my wife and I got cuts from nails on the kitchen cabinets that were merely covered by the putty and touch up pen, and the nails under the carpet. I was disappointed about the builder AmericanWest and Classic floors & Interiors. They are building too many houses in such a short time and therefore, quality and craftsmanship are getting poor.
Not wanting my new house to be a living hazard, my sister recommended me Mr. Bill Thomas. My sister who used to live in Vegas and still owns a house and a condo in Vegas had Bill as her inspector. she has a inspector friend who also thinks inspections for new houses are necessary. In the old days, people worked hard and did the job right the first time. People were honest and proud of what they were doing. Things were built to last, but it's the opposite now.
Sir Bill Thomas is a great master inspector and a great man. He is very strict and detail on the job. He was patient and took time to explain why the problems were his concerns and taught me a few things. He is a good example for us young people on what the old days were all about XD :Enthusiasm and attitude toward professionalism. it was back in October 2015 when he came. the warranty company fixed about a quarter of the problems that he found but refused to fix the rest of the three quarters claiming they are not problems. My sister's inspector friend said it was typical of builders and warranty companies but at least I have records in case something happens in the future.
I am no expert but just want my family lives safely and have a peace of mind. I would totally recommend Mr. Thomas and definitely recommend hiring an inspector before your new home is complete and have him/her inspect during the whole process.
