  • The Golden Tiki has been on my Vegas bucket list for years. I was so excited when we finally made it here. After a quick tour of our Vegas memory lane my wife and I ubered it over to the GT at about 1pm. From the outside you would never guess the inside would be set up the way it was. From the moment you step in the front door you're transported to a different world with the entire Tiki theme. The owners did not spare any expense creating that island/tiki feel. The art and décor is a sight in itself. It is like a museum. I recommend getting there early in the day if you want to have the place to yourself and have some fun walking around to check out the displays. From what I heard this place fills up at night and you will have to jockey for position. Joneale was so awesome! She greeted us when we walked in and gave us her take on some of the crowd faves. She did offer me a beer list but I was all in with the tiki feel and wanted to put back a few cocktails. I stared with the Dole whip rum float. Just watch out for the brain freeze. There is no hiding the fact that they put rum in your drinks. The concoctions are very strong so be careful if you're out in the middle of the day like us. They have a few booths but I think you can reserve them. The bar is very long and wraps around much of the place. There is a room in the back that is darker than the front part. Sit at the shelfie spot for a quick photo op. There is an ATM machine in the back but they do accept all forms of plastic. Check out the unicorn horn in the back and the tooth fairy in the front of the bar. Also, there is a huge wooden sculpture near the shell waterfall in the front that you can rub for good luck. Make your way over and enjoy the Tiki life for a couple of hours. Go see Joneale and tell her Joe from Cali sent you but she probably won't remember. By the way the signal inside is like a black hole so you probably will not get any service. Happy drinking!
