Lake las vegas reminds me of that scene from Big when he goes to the carnival after everybody's left where he encounters that creepy wish granting machine. Unfortunately I didnt encounter one of these machines, but the creepyish empty vibe in a place that feels like it should be sprawling with life is still there.
I couldn't help but think the whole time I was here: some developer lost a LOT of money on this place. There's countless empty retail places, a big casino that I think is closed, and if its not it shows no sign of life and may as well be, and golf courses that they dont even bother watering and more.
The place is beautiful, has well manicured landscaping, and is all very clean, but I think it's probably easy to keep a place clean that gets 20 visitors per day. Worth checking out though, especially if you're making a documentary on the real estate bubble.... or looking for a mysterious magic genie machine that can grant your wish to be a grown up.
