| - My Star rating has gone down, not because of the food but rather the lack of service. We frequently staycation at JW Marriott Camelback along with dining at Rita's for lunch because the food is very good and the patio is wonderful to sit and relax. The same service happened during my last review, but I did not mention... thought, maybe an off day.
This visit I had an out of town guest with my friend and I. After a nice hike, I thought to grab a light bit to eat, raving about Rita's Chicken Tortilla Soup. We were greeted and seated. Waited quit a while for the gentleman server, who we've had before to come over. OK, this was the order: 2 ice teas with sweetener packets requested, 1 beer, an order of Guacamole and Salsa and 3 bowls of Chicken Tortilla Soup. How simple is that? The ice teas were delivered, with no sweetener. I requested sweetener again and waited and waited. The Guacamole came out right away. Then out of the blue one bowl of soup was delivered. Still waiting for the beer and the sweetener. I ate the soup while hot. tracked down another server, to check on the other 2 soups. Then the beer finally came and FINALLY my sweetener. Finished my soup the Guacamole finished and we were STILL waiting on the 2 soups after we asked AGAIN. Finally the soup came.
Really!? I would of spoken to a manager, but at that point I was so frustrated and didn't want to make a scene with my out of town guest. To note: it seemed like some of the other guests who were time share seasonal regulars who sat after us (2 tables to be exact) got the red carpet. It's not right. Local residents who dine here SHOULD NOT be treated differently for Hotel guests.
Maybe I should cancel all my future staycations and out of town visitor recommendations along with just not dining here anymore.
