| - I recently moved to the area from NYC and managed to carve out a few hours to get my hair done-I say carve out because as any new mom would know, getting away is virtually impossible and getting your hair done is a luxury. I found Rowdy Hair on Yelp and Megan McCoy had rave reviews so I made my appointment for highlights, a cut and a blowout. I was running late (those newborns have a knack for making that happen) and called the salon to let them know I would be 10-15 min late. Sure, no problem was the response. When I arrived, I met Megan who within 10 seconds of meeting me told me that she had a strict policy on time, and I wouldn't be able to get all the services I wanted. Alrighty then...Thanks for ruining this salon experience already and taking away whatever semblance of relaxation and me time I was hoping to have. She then proceeds to ask me what I wanted done and how my previous stylist did my highlights. After I told her, she basically began to discredit my previous stylist's technique-not professional, not cool especially since my stylist was AMAZING. The icing on the cake was when she told me: "To be honest, your highlights aren't that pretty". WHHHHAAATTTT????!!!!! Who says that?!?! At that point, I was done but the part of me that wanted to get my hair done especially since it was so hard to leave a new baby got the better of me and I stayed. HUGE mistake. I'm not sure why she thinks she's so amazing or what the hype is all about, but I left the salon with my hair pretty much looking like a cosmetology student dropout had been given a second chance to work on clients. My roots were my original hair color (black) but then my middle section and ends were my old highlights, but slightly brighter-so essentially she just emphasized the regrowth process which I am trying to fix! Honestly, a $10.99 bottle of Miss Clairol would have done a better job than her. I did return to have my hair redone, mostly because I had already shelled out $120 for this atrocity and felt that it needed to be redeemed. She redid my highlights, did a trim and a blowout, the latter of which was rushed and instead of giving me a pretty wavy blowout, I ended up with partially frizzy, partially straight hair that I ended up washing again when I got home. NEVER AGAIN!!!
