Put A Cone On It, just opened and I just visited. While I decided against ice cream on this cold November day, I did indulge in an almond croissant and a latte. Both were better than average, which makes sense when you consider that Put A Cone is the second creation from the owner of Manic Coffee.
The space is actually quite spare and beautiful; white with subtle red accents and lots of light. There are only three tables at the back and bench seating in the front window; I expect that come warm days there will be lots of people taking out the ice cream. In fact, there were a number of people doing just that today!
The folks working the machines are friendly and pull a great cup... make a trip the next time you are in the area. It`s worth it.
I have been seriously remiss... K and I went last week for ice cream! We tried several flavours and I settled on Espresso and Vanilla Malt... they were wonderful. The Espresso had a very nice bite, exactly the same as a quick shot of the hot stuff, and the Vanilla Malt was subtle, a very delicate hint of Vanilla underneath the malt. K had the Red Velvet and reported it to be excellent.
It may have been a cold Friday evening but as it turns out ice cream is exactly right when the wind is chilling; I think it makes your insides and outsides closer in temperature and you don't feel as cold! There was a small crowd who seemed to agree that an after-dinner ice cream was the thing to do on a cold night.
