The check-in process was awesome. A woman named Sylvia checked us in and she extremely friendly and helpful. She even gave us a s'mores pack to make in the evening from the fire pits. The resort area is beautiful. The free kayaking is definitely a must. It was our first time doing that and we really enjoyed it. The pools are great. My four-year-old son absolutely loved the waterslide. It actually is a really great slide. We were also able to get a late check-out at noon.
The reason for the three-star review is that the rooms desperately need updating! The carpets are dirty, the beds are not very comfortable, the curtains had little holes in them that let the sun shine through early in the morning. There also is nothing to eat in the area! There's a couple of restaurants there but we did not eat at them. Pretty much the entire shopping Village at Lake Las Vegas is closed down so we had to drive out of Lake Las Vegas for food.
