| - Regency is a nice-looking beauty school. I appreciated the new decor, it really felt like a salon.
I arrived late for my pedicure, but the receptionist was gracious and offered me coffee, tea, or water while I waited for my pedicurist (is that a word?) to take me back. Everything looks newly refurbished in this location. This is a big plus. It was clean and tidy, another plus.
My pedicurist was kind and helped me pick a color for my toes. Side note: they don't have many colors to choose from, so feel free to bring your own. I was seated in a chair, which was comfy but not one like at the usual nail salons for pedicures. The food "tub" was like a foot bath you use at home, except for the warmer which also vibrates. Not the usual jet pumping foot bath you'd expect.
The young pedicurist did an ok job, but honestly....I do better myself. While it was nice to have my feet massaged by someone other than myself, eh...the clipping, filing, and polishing was all mediocre at best, and like I said...I do better.
The student's do have to show their work to instructors at the beginning and the end of the pedicure. I think this is nice, but I would have liked to see more "instructing" happening.
Overall, for my $10 (there was a $5 discount the day I was there) wasn't horribly spent. I probably won't be back and when looking for a beauty school pedicure will go down the street to Raphael's (better chairs and overall pedicures).
Be advised....students are doing all the work...so they might work a bit slower than a "normal" pedicure.
