This place seems amazing. The staff I had met was super friendly. However, my two star rating comes for a different reason.
They aren't the most affordable place but their rates are reasonable. I was ready to sign my son up but wanted to see if I could pay for 3 days starting on a Friday and going into the next week. I was told I would have to pay the weekly rate of $139 for Friday and another weekly rate for the following week in which I only required two days. My old day care ran in a similar manner, so this response didn't bother me. I wasn't bothered until I asked if I get my extra unused days refunded. I was told no. The woman helping me was super sweet and seemed genuinely sad that I was so disappointed in this policy.
I decided not to enroll my son. I felt a company can make their building as nice looking as possible, play all the ambiance music they want but if their only care is your money it'll show through.
I decided to take my son back to his old day care. The only reason I checked out KinderCare was for the location which is right next to my job. However, I truly felt cared for at his old day care, Premier Children's Center. When I was going through a divorce and money was tight, they had no problem giving me a daily rate. Any unused days roll over or get refunded. When I called and spoke to the director about my son returning for only one day this week and two days next week, I could hear her smile through the phone "Sure thing! We'll see you guys then!"
THAT'S what I look for in a day care. A place that truly cares.
