| - I was toggling between 2 and 3 stars, because the service and actual theater experience is great, however, the food failed so badly.
I consider iPic a luxury experience (compared to AMC and Studio Movie Grill) so I hold them to higher standards. I ordered a prickly pear margarita first, and it was a bit on the sweet side, but the two lime slices they added helped even it out. Their wine list is decent and very fairly priced. I like that they offer glasses, half bottles and bottles. It makes it easier to get through a long movie with a half bottle than having to order multiple glasses.
For food, I ordered their lobster roll with Old Bay seasoned chips. I have had better lobster rolls from McDonald's (yes, McDonald's sells Lobster rolls in Maine during the summer!). The lobster was not fresh. It was nicely presented and a good portion, but not being fresh was an instant turn off. The chips were close to being stale or overcooked. If they were meant to be fresh, they were not warm and the seasoning was not even. Some chips had a good Old Bay flavor, while others had none at all. I was so disappointed. I realize ordering seafood in the desert is always taking a risk, but I expected at the place like iPic, it would be safe enough to take the chance.
The staff was great. They are attentive, but not in an annoying way. There are no buttons to push to call them, which I think is great. It stops people around you from buzzing them in the middle of a movie.
Overall, if you have never experienced iPic and want to splurge on a nice date night or just take yourself out for a nice evening, it is worth doing. But if you are a frequent movie-goer and like to enjoy the dine-in theater experience, I think AMC is equally as good and a lot less expensive.
