  • My gas water heater, purchased from a local Lowe's on 11/02/20111 with an extended parts & labor warranty, stopped working on 06/30/2016. The pilot light was out and could not be reignited despite numerous attempts at troubleshooting. Sound Plumbing was the company that Lowe's sent to repair my water heater and I am most happy that they did. It turns out that the entire Honeywell control valve (white plastic box with flashing light and pilot light/temperature controls) was defective and had to be replaced at no cost under warranty. The best part of this service experience was the plumber/service technician who came out to do the work. Bill Abella is one knowledgeable plumber (been gathering experience in the field since age 12!) who insists on taking his time, keeping the work area clean, explaining everything to the customer and going above and what is necessary to ensure that the job is done properly and guarantee customer satisfaction. Rumor has it that some Sound Plumbing customers not only specifically ask for him by name, but insist on knowing his phone number for direct-dial access. He's also extremely interesting/enjoyable to have around, a real nice guy and a good conversationalist. Bill Abella is someone you'd be interested in knowing privately, outside of the actual service encounter. After I also decided to replace the existing tank anode (extreme deterioration readily visible) and install a ball valve for easier future tank draining/flushing in my approximately 4.5 year old water heater (cost of $225.00), Bill ensured that everything was in tip-top working order and also flushed all the air out of the hot water outlets in my house before leaving. This was by far my best service experience with a plumber bar none; I had never heard of this particular plumbing company before and now I will most likely be using them for all of future plumbing needs! Perhaps, you too should consider using this company's services the next time the need arises?
