  • We had a fantastic time here at Steam Whistle. Located right next to the CN Tower, Harbourfront and Ripley's Aquarium, it is in a prime spot in Toronto. Right at the entrance of Steam Whistle, are many trains cause it's the Toronto Railway Museum - lovely place, especially in the spring/summer season. Walking into the brewery, the scent of beer (or it could be those pretzels), smelt delicious! There were many people who were lined up to order beer, despite it being noon time on a Thursday. Joel was a fantastic speaker (tour guide) who showed us around their brewery with a bit of historical knowledge (primarily the founders and their ideas on creating the Steam Whistle brand), contextual knowledge of the brewery, ingredients they use, the materials of the bottle, the thought process behind the materials/design of the bottle and the chemical processes behind making the beer. Right at the beginning of the tour, we were all given a free bottle of beer, and at the end, a free tasting of what the beer will be like without filtration. In between, we were also given some barley to taste.
