I have been a quilter for 3 decades now. We visited this shop for the first time today, and it will be our last. They do have some nice selections, but their selections are limited, and overpriced. We were in the shop for 45 minutes, and not one employee bothered to say hello. Two of the employees actually looked right at us, and never said a word. It seemed that they were too busy with their "regulars" to help anyone else.
When it came time to check out (a $200 purchase), we stood in line while some ditzy woman was trying to decide on some quilt class. We stood for several minutes, and finally someone came to help. She asked if I wanted a gift card from the shop, and then automatically assumed that I was married; and said that I could put my wife's name on the card.
Yesterday we were in a quilt shop in northern WI, and spent an hour just visiting with the two women who ran the place. They were welcoming, warm and friendly - and very helpful. We will not be back to Stitchers Crossing. There are plenty of other places to purchase what they have to offer - and without the attitude.
