It's so sad when you trust people and think that they're doing right by you to find out they're not. This is AC by Jay.
We've used them for many years to do the bi-annual maintenance work on two homes and my commercial business. They would come to each, go up into the attic and say "everything is fine, we'll see you in six months".
One of the homes has a room that gets no air - literally, and we asked our maintenance man "What can we do to get air to this room"? He responded "Nothing. You may want to put in a ceiling fan to help, other than that you have to live with it".
Jump ahead 2 years, everything's the same but now I need a new AC system due to age. We called in a few different companies to get some proposals and we were blown away by what we heard. All the other companies said that the reason there's no air getting to the front room is because there's a kink in the duct and many air leaks throughout. "Can it be fixed"? "Yes, we need to put in a new plenum and it will be fine".
We called our company, AC by Jay and they had nothing to say.. Really what could they say? Sorry would be a good start, how can we make this right? But we didn't get any of that they tried to say it was our fault because nobody noted that we were having problems on our account.
Don't get me started - Even if I never mentioned that I don't get any air in the front room they should have said "hey you've got a kink and leaks in your system which may be decreasing your air to the front room". Makes sense since this is why you pay for maintenance.
The topper to all of it; So AC by Jay suggested that we put up a ceiling fan. The room didn't have an outlet to do so and we had to call an electrician to come out and install one for us. That cost us $500 and then the fan was another $250. Now we find out from all these other companies that having a fan does not help the situation, if anything it makes the room hotter because it's using a motor. It's exactly what you don't want to do!
Bottom line: AC by Jay has not only taken money from us when they didn't provide the service but they cost me even more money ($750) because they advised me to get the fan that ultimately was adding to the problem.
We still have not heard anything from AC by Jay.
