A really cool place to get a bite. Charbar gets creative, reasonable price, lunch-crowd pleasing lunches right (4-5 star).
But it simply repeats the formula for dinner at twice the price, and executes it less well in my experience (burnt, overcooked, poor flavours, pretentious portions). Little pride and quality control.
The Arctic char was the worst offender - a terrible dish of miniature proportions for $35+! The sausage dish: two normal-sized and tasty sausages for $20! Nothing to accompany them. $20! The pizza had completely charred-through meat.
The only hit: the sundae.
For 1/2 the price you'll eat twice as well at Earls.
Stick to lunch at Charbar - their forte.
