  • It's been a while since anyone posted pictures so I figured I'd give an updated set. I've always wanted to try out a float tank and found a Groupon to get me started. This spa looks to be located in an old repurposed apartment building which should be a surprise to no one, as it's Lakewood. What did you expect? For those looking to visit, there is a parking lot behind the building. When facing the building, there is a narrow ally way to your left. Drive up that and you can park against the back of the building. The lobby was pleasant. Comfortable. Someone did an excellent job decorating as this is exactly what I expected a holistic spa to look and feel like walking in. The air smells of eucalyptus, which I felt was a plus. The only interaction with staff I had was the lady at the front desk. She was nice and explained in detail how everything worked what to do what not to do... etc. The flotation tank room was clean and the floor was dry (I was the first appointment, so I was definitely the first to use it that day.) Shower was clean and free of rust or any other unpleasantness. They provided toiletries to shower with and a hairdryer. I won't comment on my float itself as it was my first time. I just couldn't relax. Maybe it was the darkness or being in an enclosed space, but I didn't particularly care for it. That's not a fault of the spa at all, but I felt I'd mention it just to leave the disclaimer that I won't fault the spa for my experience in the tank. I know it was mentioned in a previous comment about there only being a foot of water. That is absolutely correct. But I will say that there is most likely a purpose for that. Due to water displacement, if you have a very large customer come in and displacing 2 feet of water, you'd end up with salt water all over the floor. I mean, the level of the water didn't affect my enjoyment of it at all. I didn't touch bottom and I did float. So that didn't affect my review at all. Makes sense. The float room was old though. It's very vintage looking. I wasn't skeeved out by it as if you go anywhere with 1000 lbs of corrosive salt water, it is going to be hard to keep absolutely everything looking brand new. Again, It's Lakewood, no one should be surprised when they walk into a small business and they've kept some old charm. I'm happy it's a building that's being used and not sitting vacant and abandoned. Overall, I liked my visit. If holistic therapies are your thing, by all means! I'm glad I tried it. No frills. No hard selling. Happy to support a local business!
