| - All business and no joking at EN, so..
130 on Friday, almost full. Nice array of seats: 2-top table-booths with a solo counter and larger parties near the back, bright gold / bamboo vibe helped by bright wood floors. A Healthy mix of white and Asian guests in the generally-white sq hill neighborhood.
Service is fast after filling out the card. Tendon arrived in 3 minutes and noodles another 4. Dumplings were after a out 12 minutes.
Tendon - rich, beefy stock, onions small and needing more salt. Very large plate, gonna be filling. Inconsistent texture.. Some wonderfully crunchy, some so mushy its beef-stock marinated pearl onions.
Dan Dan noodles sat for 2 minutes upon arrival and were mushy by then. Super rich with an extremely heavy peanut flavor, thick and creamy texture helping overwhelm, some sirachra spice and roasted garlic peaking through from time-time. Some aromatic vinegar and brown sugar-molasses as well. Overall its an intoxicating, overwhelming experience and acid / crunch are needed desperately.
Soup dumplings - pretty much perfect. Lightly oily, great texture, juicy as hell with enough salt. The shredded ginger provides the acid.
Ate 2/3 of the tendon, half the noodles, and all 8 dumplings. Was stuffed. Had to box my own to-go. :(
Will make many more trips for the dumplings, might try other stuff. In, out, all business.
