  • This place has definitely seen better days. It's got this rundown, dingy feel to it that really takes you back to the late 80s. Maybe it was all of the 90s era video games lining the walls inside that probably haven't been played in years. Maybe it was the slightly acrid smell of stale popcorn or the sticky noise my shoes made as I walked to my seat. Maybe it was the hissing, popping and buzzing you could hear over the sound system. Whatever it was, it just doesn't have a good feel to it. The seats are old-school and pretty uncomfortable and the screens are on the small side. I hate when the arm rests don't go up or when the small but still outrageously huge drink cups don't fit right in them. I won't complain about the $10 I spent on a small drink and small popcorn (these actually came to more than our two tickets) because that's par for the course. They also seem to be running really lean on the staff side of things. The same people take your tickets and sell you concessions. I'm surprised they weren't also working the little booth up front. I recently went here to see a 2.5 hour movie with my wife and both of our asses were numb by the end. I guess I'm spoiled by the likes of the Cinemark cinema in Valley View with its ultra-comfortable stadium seating and state-of-the-art projection systems. The only real reason to come here is convenience or for nostalgia. Some people just like to experience what going to the movies was like 20 years ago before digital sound, before high definition and before XBox 360.
