| - My best gal pal from Chicago flew in and we headed here with Groupons in hand for a day of 're:lax'-ation.
Here's how it went down...
Appointments were for a Sunday afternoon and were made easy peasy over the phone. We mentioned our groupon deal and they advised us of the additional 20% gratuity on the regular price of the service (not a problem). 79 buckaroos with the Groupon for a 50 min massage of your choice includes a glass of wine/champagne and 10 dollar credit to FARM restaurant in the casino. They have other options that offer facials and express mani/pedi if that's your thing. We opted for the basic deal and went for the massages.
My first impression was this place was tiny. I would say very underwhelming for a Las Vegas style spa experience. The relaxation room was nice but could have been upgraded with modern seating vs the wicker furniture with cushions. It can easily be overcrowded while waiting for your service (I wasn't able to snap any pics since it was an electronic free zone).
The locker room was also super tiny and was crowded with more than handful of ladies passing through for their services (only 2 showers / 2 bathroom stalls). They did provide Re:lax branded robes, typical locker room amenities (think toothpaste/toothbrush, hair gel, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and body wash etc.), and sandals for the service. We were also able to use the outside pool after we wrapped up the massages. Overall, the spa was very clean. It was just basic and small.
Example of being small: Their steam room was only in the men's locker room (they DID allow us to use it when the coast was clear of all men and even threw in some eucalyptus aromatherapy oils to heighten our experience).
I simply wish they had more amenities within the spa. A sauna, a steam room, pool and jacuzzi would have been a nice touch. Easy access for women into those would be even better (vs having to wait for the coast to be clear to use the steam room in the men's locker room). This is NOT your pumped up luxury spa. Don't come here and expect to be 'wowed' by luxury. I'd normally give this place a 3 out of 5 stars for amenities and size.
Now, I must commend the service side of our experience. The spa manager and massage therapist were fabulous! It truly made up for the lack of spa amenities and the small size of the place. Sadly, some businesses will slack on service just because you're using a groupon. This truly wasn't the case here. Everyone we encountered was wam and friendly and went out of their way to ensure my friend and I had an amazing and relaxing time. They did their best to pamper us and didn't skimp on the massage. They were trying their best and I admire their efforts. The massage was perfectly relaxing and I was impressed. The service really is what bumped a 3 star spa experience into a 4 star one.
Final Verdict:
Our massage were great and we both enjoyed our time. The Groupon truly sweetened the deal and the service provided by the employees was superb. The only lackluster item was for the spa amenities itself.
Tip: How to find the spa... Bypass the Casino. Enter through the hotel and pass the check-in counter. Head to the elevators on your right (before the gift shop). Hop on the elevator and go to the 2nd floor and you'll find the spa there.
