  • I've bought from Club Monaco for at least a decade. However, I've primarily shopped at their Bloor and Avenue Rd. location. Now I remember why I haven't gone into the Eaton Centre location in years - poor service, and junky marked-down items. Here is my May 23, 2012 shopping experience at Club Monaco (CM): I had a great shopping experience at CM at Avenue Road and Bloor and spent over $700. Then I went to the CM at the Eaton Centre to try on a jacket that was in my size and on hold for me. I didn't buy the jacket but found 2 pairs of pants that looked great on me, and proceeded to check out. There was NO marked indication on where to stand, and there were no other customers in line however, I still asked one of the several people where behind the counter, and he said anywhere is fine. So being the only one in line, I went to a young woman of colour behind the till, she was folding stuff and did not acknowledge me right away. She then looked to her right and asked an Asian and Black man if they were busy. They were hunched over the till doing something. The Asian man turned to another Asian woman who was just walking by and asked her to serve me. She went to the till closest to the door. Another customer came and stood next to me obviously waiting for her, because the salesperson was carrying her items. So I have been passed around 3 times and can't check out. The killer was when I looked back to where the Black guy was standing now alone and serving a customer! What am I, invisible (I'm Black)? So after that customer is served, I am still waiting for the woman beside me to buy her items who is taking forever to sort out her affairs with the clerk. I finally get fed up of being overlooked, and before the Black guy can continue to ignore me and serve another customer (which he was getting ready to do), I butted in front of that customer and asked him if he had not seen me waiting there from before anyone was in line. He said no! If that's true then he should be fired, because he is costing CM money by giving poor customer service. If it is not true, and he was ignoring me, then he should be fired for poor customer service again, or just stupidity! He even had the gall to tell me if I'm unhappy I should complain to management (which I did, and they have yet to say even "hi"). I actually then complained to customer service at Club Monaco in an email 13 days ago and have not heard anything from them. So, I've come to Yelp (and a few other social communities) to share my roughshod experience at Club Monaco in the Eaton Centre. And by all indications, the complete lack of concern from Customer Service at Club Monaco as well. As a brand that gives Club Monaco a #massive #fail.
