| - We followed Melissa R's review and chose the Pinnacle Peak Trail as our first hike in Arizona. Overall, an excellent hike, with great views throughout and also plenty of signage pointing out all the native plants of the desert with fun facts. There is just a single trail, 1.75 miles to the end, and then 1.75 miles back. Lots of steps combined with some straightaways. Trails were well-maintained but had a few rocky areas. It took us maybe 2 hours round-trip including plenty of rest and photos.
Some observations/tips:
* Carry at least two bottles of water to keep yourself hydrated.
* The trail has two levels of signage to help you gauge progress: Every 0.25-miles from trailhead (0) to the end (1.75). Also, it has these flags marking 1 to about 70.
* You'll find all sorts of folks sharing the trail with you: elderly, kids, pregnant women, hardcore joggers/runners, families, folks who look like models, and even a few body-builder types. Kinda makes the hike fun.
