  • Wow, do most of the reviews of Sun City Awning sound familiar! We ordered an automatic screen for our patio in August of 2017, and it was finally installed in April of 2018! When we ordered the screen, we took the salesman to our neighbor's house and told him their screen was the exact same screen we wanted. We paid for half of the cost of the screen upfront. It was delivered 11/21/17, and the length of side rails was incorrect. They said they would order new side rails and they would arrive within two weeks at most. Finally, in January, 2018, new side rails were delivered and, it was at this time, we discovered, it was not even the type screen we had ordered. We took installers to our neighbor's house, and they knew immediately it was not the same screen as the one we got. They took new measurements. We were then told by Jason Diede, Installation Manager, that we would now have to pay an addition $465 to get the screen we wanted (which was the one we thought salesman had ordered in the first place), and that it would take five to seven weeks, but that he would keep us informed, but that never happened once. We called back five weeks later and Jason said he would check on order and call back within two hours, but never called back. We called him back 2/19/18, and were given same line, he would check with supplier and get back to us. We called him again 2/26/18 and were once again given same line, he would check and get back to us. We tried on several occasions to get our money back and cancel order but were told by Jason that was not possible. At this point we were so frustrated with Sun City Awning, that we gave up calling them. We were finally called in April, 2018 and the correct screen was installed 4/16/18, eight months after it was initially ordered! This is the most frustrating company we have ever dealt with, other than the installers, who were great to deal with. They were the only ones to apologize to us for the numerous problems in getting the correct screen. We will never recommend Sun City Awning to anyone, nor will our neighbors, after the problems we have had! Their customer service is totally unacceptable, phone calls are not returned, time frames given are never met, prices given are changed. How the screen could have been ordered wrong, when we took the salesman to our neighbor's house and told him we wanted one exactly like theirs, we cannot even comprehend, especially when he was the same salesman that ordered our neighbor's screen!
