This was one of the first restaurants I visited when I moved to the Pittsburgh area, but I hadn't been back in a few years. It's a shame that I haven't made more of an effort, because this is the best Indian restaurant in the metro area. I wouldn't rank it among the best I have ever visited -- that spot is held by Quilon in (St. James) London. It's at the top of the +/-12 I have frequented in Pittsburgh over the last 15+ years.
Let me start by saying I RARELY eat from a buffet; I always order off the menu.
I'm one of those weird curry junkies who believe the use of spices and seasoning shouldn't amount to a burning mouth. Spicy doesn't just mean hot! Taste of India's spices are nuanced and every dish has a distinct set of flavors. It's so odd that so many restaurants around Pittsburgh can't say the same.
