I consider myself to be like a beginner to immediate knitter and crocheter. I took a couple of beginner classes at the Joann Store and wanted to learn more. Tempe Yarn & Fiber is a beautiful store with a warm and friendly staff. There are numerous classes to learn everything that you ever wanted to know about knitting such as sock knitting and ultimately knitting that first sweater. The instructors are so kind, patient, and encouraging to a beginner like me. I dream of buying the more expensive quality yarns in the future and making heirloom sweaters and gifts for family and friends.
The nicest thing about Tempe Yarn is going to their weekly knit and crochet meetup groups. There are different groups and times, including weekdays and even weekend meetups for the FT career women. So not only do you learn these beautiful crafts, but also meet really fun, great new friends with women of all ages. You can try going to different groups on different days and times for meeting new people.
Tempe Yarn also has events like author book signings sometimes. I got my book, "Crochet Answer Book" by Edie Eckman signed by the author. It was fun to sit at their long tables and actually crochet next to a famous author! By the way, she was a very nice and down to earth person, too!
If you erroneously believed that you could NEVER learn how to knit in the past guess again! They are all so kind and helpful that you WILL learn how to knit! Just keep coming to Tempe Yarn and you will keep improving your skills! Thanks!
