  • I'm giving Alexander's 5 stars because of not one, but two of my experiences working with them. Experience 1: My break booster was no longer working so I was driving around using my emergency breaks like a crazy lady because I could not find a fair price to do the service. I bought the piece from a junkyard, and encountered a small issue with it when I brought it to Alexander's. The owner was nice enough to actually call the junkyard for me and we found a quick solution to that minor problem. I chose to go to Alexander's because 1. The reviews were great, 2. He was able to get it done in a decent amount of time, and 3. He gave me a fair price. I even considered going to a friend of friend but they were actually charging me more than the price I got Alexander's and would take forever to return the call. Prior to learning about Alexander's I went to a well known shop down the street. I was at the shop for about 3 hours before they gave me my car back. The estimate they gave me was well over 1 grand. He was talking about my windshield wiper, and fluid and tax and labor. I was upset because they wasted my time and racked up all these things wrong with my car on a sheet with total after I had small talk with the guy telling him I did not plan to keep this car for long. My objective was to use my day off wisely fixing a SERIOUS problem with the vehicle. When I took it to Alexander's, they had my car back to me earlier than expected, He spoke with the junkyard for me, which he didn't have to do, and most of all, they were honest. Experience 2: My car would not start late at night and at the time I was actually up the street from the shop. I was so worried because I knew it was not a simple battery replacement. My fear was that is was the starter. I called the shop and let him know what was going on. I told him I was going to buy a starter from penny pinchers. H e advised me to to because they have not diagnosed the car yet. If worst came to worst, he said he'd give me a good deal on a starter so I wouldn't need to go there. I was so relieved when he let me know that they can have my car towed. Toe cost was only $40 bucks. He called me shortly after the car got to the shop and informed me that is was something very minor that just required adjusting. I wasn't charged for anything besides the tow. I will always think of Alexander's first from now on anytime I have an issue with my car. The owner is great, but so are the other staff there. I have nothing but good things to say about them .
