  • Shady!!! Complete rip off!!! We purchased a side by side refrigerator and a microwave from the Sears outlet located in the Kmart on Eastern. We purchased the refrigerator and microwave on Thursday 9/15/2016. We paid cash as in 18 $100 bills for the refrigerator and microwave scheduled them for a Sunday delivery. We get a call Sunday morning stating that they opened the refrigerator out of the factory box to inspect it and it was damaged. BS!! My husband asked the manager that called us his name was Edgar if we could see the refrigerator and inspect the damage he said yes come into the store and we will show you. We have purchased new appliances from them before in the box and they come delivered in the box. We purchased a washer and dryer both delivered in the box and a freezer that came delivered in the box. Why would you remove an expensive appliance from the box and protective wrapping then deliver it? This would dramatically increase the chances of it being damaged. We spoke to Julie Egan the supposed manager who told us unpacking was policy which we know to be untrue. She said they unpacked the refrigerator in the store saw the damage then sent it to the delivery service which is a completely different company and they then confirmed it was damaged?!!!!! We asked another employee there if what she was telling us was true and she shook her head no. We paid cash and now have to wait 5-7 days to get a check back in the mail. I think they sold our refrigerator to someone else and are lying about it. I would avoid this Sears outlet at all costs they are dishonest and I feel Julie lied to us several times while we were there she said Edgar wasn't there although my husband spoke with him at 10 am Sunday morning and we were there by 10:40 Sunday am. 10;40 does not strike me as a lunch time or a end of shift time.
