  • 5* Jamaican Patty!! If you grew up anywhere in the 'burbs of this great city, you likely had a phase in middle or high school where you would walk over to the nearby plaza at lunch hour or after school and purchase a Jamaican beef patty. Although I enjoy mystery meat as much as the next guy, I always found the experience of eating Jam Patties pretty underwhelming! Long story short, about a month ago I stumbled into G's with a friend from Luxembourg who was bent on having patties before heading back to Europe, and lo and behold the patty from G's tasted amazing!!! I have been back several times, sober or not, with few or many in company, the verdict is that this patty is amazing! Upon further experimentation, it was found that the patties taste even better with Carolina style BBQ sauce! There is little else to note about G's that one would not already predict from an independently owned 24hr food mart; it's over priced and the selection is random, but the notion that it's the closest 24hr spot on Bloor east of Yonge definitely adds an edge. Hence ends one of my weirdest reviews dedicated to a measly patty! Definitely worth a try.
