I've been to a couple other vets around Markham because my poor kitty had to get 2 surgeries. Out of all of them, we have stuck with Wellington because when they first opened they were open 7 days a week which meant we did not need to pay extra over night fees if my cat had to go into surgery again. other vets, we went to were closed weekends and my cat had to have surgery on a Friday and forced to stay overnight for 3 nights because other vets weren't open to get our cat (stupid).
But Wellington was open 7 days a week WOO. now I think they are only open 6 days a week which is better than 5. Another plus is the location, super close to where I live about a 7-minute walk or 1-minute car ride. Super important for my cat because he is terrified of being in the car.
There is plenty of parking in the plaza so that is never a problem.
The facility itself is very clean and spacious. The lobby is always stocked with cat and dog food for purchase and even a section for "human treats." Whenever we book an appointment we do not have to wait, we would be shown into the cat room. Yes, there are separate rooms for cat and dogs. The cat room is decorated with cat pictures and has a scent that is sprayed into the air to calm cats down which is very helpful. The vet, Cliff Redford, is a true animal lover and it shows! He is so passionate and caring about every one of his patients, he treats my cat like one of his own. Super attentive and knowledgable. He even gave my cat a toy and treat at the end of the visit.
There is also a dog playroom in the front next to the lobby which is cute. They also let you put up lost pet posters on the window for the public to see walking by. Unlike other vets where you have to go in to see the posters.
I highly recommend Cliff Redford and his team. True animal lovers.
