Our tripawd (get it? ba dum ch!) German Shepherd woke us up this morning yelping in pain and hopping around hunched up. He definitely needed to be checked out. Not having liked the last vet we used, we called Augusta Ranch.
The tech on the phone was super sweet and got us in 2 hours later. They had offered to carry Atticus in and upon arriving immediately brought all of us water.
Kathy the vet tech was lovely and took lots of time to make him comfortable with her. He isn't big on strangers taking him away from us, but he happily went with Kathy for his procedures.
Atticus loved Dr. Moss too. She has a very calm demeanor and even sat on the floor with him. She figured out within 2 minutes what area the problem was in (his back).
Turned out he had bulging discs. After dealing with a prior vet being condescending and in a hurry, we appreciated Dr. Moss's manner. She spent plenty of time showing us the x-rays & explaining them using actual anatomy terms, without talking down to us.
She sent him home with plenty of meds to be comfortable, info on back problems in dogs, and on the bill she had even typed out a really detailed summary.
The office/finance part was as pleasant as possible to deal with too. Kathy brought us the potential bill, with both a "low" estimate (basic recommendations) and a "high" estimate; nobody made us feel bad for going with the "low" side. They do participate in CareCredit, you can get approved right then on your phone. They also do $20 off for first time clients.
We will be making Augusta Ranch our regular vet after today!
