| - Despite reading all the negative reviews about Wet n Wild I decided to check out the venue for myself and I concluded that all the Yelp reviewers were right. This is not such a fun place to visit.
I had a coupon from Burger King that clearly stated on the ticket to 'purchase online' in bold letters. It then went on to say use promo code BK16 at check out. The only problem with that, is, there is no promo code box to enter the information into on their website so I couldn't buy the ticket online. The price on their website states $34.99. If you buy the ticket at the park you have to pay $39.99. I not sure why people have to pay more money to stand in a long line while the sun is beating down on you, which was 102 degrees.
I emailed customer service about the coupon and their response was 'stand in line' never acknowledging the verbage printed on the coupon.
Then I tried calling their customer service phone number and all I got was a voice recording loop. No human picked up the phone. How annoying.
So, I headed to the park and stood in line. Phelan approached me (note did not "greet me" trying to hawk season tickets. I told her about the problem and she had no clue about the coupon or anything about the company. She told me to talk to the ticket people. So, I asked her to be part the solution. Well, she didn't like my comment too much so she did the moonwalk to distance herself from the situation.
Finally, I got to the ticket office and I spoke to (note not 'greeted') Tanner who didn't seem to know how to work the intercom too good. When I told him the problem he stated 'we don't sell tickets online for $34.99". Ahhh, dead wrong Buddy! Clearly, he hasn't checked his company's website lately. Kinda scary considering he's in the ticket office and his job is sales. In the end I was forced to pay $39.99 minus my coupon discount. Not happy.
I feel that their BK coupon is very misleading to say the least.
It should be noted to be careful when using the Lazy River because the edge of the pool is finished with textured concrete and it is VERY easy to bump your feet or fingers into the concrete and end up with skin scrapes due to the turbulence. Clearly, safety was not a consideration when constructing the pool. Also, bring your own noodle because there was a shortage of tubes.
Considering the location is in a desert, I expected to see a lot more shade options available. Lounge chairs under shade were at a premium.
The majority of Wet & Wild employees are teenagers and I did not see one of them smiling or appearing to enjoy their job or interacting with patrons.
If you live close by and regularly use a season pass there may be some value in going to Wet & Wild but in my opinion it is not worth it for a one day pass. Needless to say6 I will not be returning.
