| - This was my first visit to Vegas but I have also stayed in some nice hotels and I definitely can't relate to most of these negative reviews. The Linq is not the Bellagio, but it's certainly not bad for the price and you really can't beat the location.
My boyfriend and I arrived to The Linq super late (around 1 am) and had no major issues checking in. The lady at the desk was really friendly and helpful and explained how the buildings were arranged and how to navigate everything. We booked through hotels.com and had picked a King room, but when we arrived we were told the rooms are assigned "first come, first served" so we got two double beds. The lady at the desk told us we could call and switch to a king room the next morning. That was kind of weird, but we ended up just staying in the room because we didn't want to deal with moving our stuff. Plus by this point we just wanted a room!
The room was pretty small, but there was a mini fridge, safe, ironing board, etc. Our housekeeper was really great (our friends said theirs wasn't as good) and replaced everything each day, including all towels/washcloths/bathmats, gave us new bottles of water every day, etc. The a/c is kind of loud, but I like white noise at night so that didn't bother me at all.
As others have stated, the layout of the hotel is slightly confusing at first. There are 3 towers or "districts," we stayed in the first district which is above the main lobby/casino area. Our room was directly above the Harrah's Carnaval Court pavilion which has rock bands playing til 2 or 3 am every night, but honestly, it wasn't that bad (like I said, the a/c provided plenty of white noise and I usually sleep with earplugs). The First district is the best in terms of location - it's just down one elevator to all the action (the other districts are further away). If you're a light sleeper, though - request a different area.
The pool area is pretty small and it's definitely not for relaxing - a dj blasts music louder than many concerts I've been to. You can rent a cabana for about $100 for a day. The drinks at the pool are $$$ ($16 for a small pina colada) but really, I didn't want to waste much time at the pool with so much other stuff to do. We were only there for about an hour one day.
The only real downside that we encountered with the hotel itself was the Uber/Lyft rideshare pickup area. The hotel has a designated pickup/dropoff for these services that is in the back of the hotel, and I thought it would make getting an Uber super easy. It was the opposite. Many Uber drivers didn't know where to go and ended up at Caesar's Palace (even though we selected the Linq on the app). With so many different places within one tiny square mile it made GPS location difficult. We actually ended up taking cabs most places and it wasn't much more than Uber (and SO much easier, since there are cabs constantly circling through 24/7). Also I have AT&T and service inside some parts of the casino was nonexistent. Otherwise I would absolutely stay here again!
