Ok, so when I first arrived I thought that this was going to be a great stay. There was a shuttle from the airport, a delicious cookie at check-in and the decor looked updated and nice. Then I ended up learning about the things that I did not like.
First of all, if they offer your room 242, immediately ask for another room and beware of room 342 as well. My room was right over the loading dock to the restaurant. When the produce delivery truck arrives at 5:50 AM and drops the lift gate on the truck you will not be sleeping for long. You also get a great view of the dumpsters and get to hear the banging of bottles being thrown into the trash when the bar cleans up. Not cool. When I shared this with the front desk it was like, oh well let's get you checked out and out of here.
The next annoyance is that room 424 is a handicap room. There fore the shower is just part of the bathroom floor. After two mornings I was not able to figure out how to take a shower without making the rest of the bathroom a lake. The tile is laid so that the water does not go to the shower drain but goes outside, soaking anything that you have on the ground and making your bathroom a hazard for the rest of the day. I pitty the housekeeping staff who has to clean that every day.
Oh and by the way, if you want to have decent internet access plan another $10.00 cost to your room rate.
I was starting to think that increasing the number of nights I stay at Hilton properties would be a good thing, but I am not yet convinced after this stay.
