  • I lived at RMV from January to October 2015. I moved from Scottsdale to East Phoenix for cheaper living. My roommate and I decided on this place. I was nervous initially because I thought cheaper meant there would be sacrifices to be made. In fact, this place provided a better living experience than my ritzy Scottsdale apartment. The staff here is great. They are down to Earth individuals who will help you with whatever you need if you ask nicely. I have never had a problem with those people and can see they really care about their tenants, and in a complex with over 700 units, they can actually remember your name. My roommate and I only encountered a few maintenance problems. Occasionally, our washing machine would malfunction, thankfully without clothes inside. It just wouldn't start. This happened about 3 times, and each time we reported it, within a few days, there would be someone along to fix it. No big deal. We also had a leak in the air conditioning for a few days. It was during the summer and was able to fill up a few buckets worth of water. Once reported, maintenance was again quick on the scene and helped us out. Never had that problem again. As for pests, RMV does a good job on keeping them out. I did encounter a roach in my pantry once, however. That was in September and it was only one. It's surprising because my apartment in particular is right next to Papago Park, essentially the wilderness, and we never had a bug/scorpion problem. As for location, it is centrally located between Scottsdale, Tempe, and Sky Harbor Airport, 3 of my most frequently visited places. And having Papago Park as a backyard is great. I'm outdoorsy and whatnot, so that was a sweet deal. Never going to live in a place without hiking trails in my backyard ever again. Unfortunately, I had to part ways due to a job change and price, the only negative. I now work up near Happy Valley, so the 35-40 commute on I17 is a pain and a half. The rent is high for the area too. I think a good rule of thumb is $1 per sq ft. when looking for an apartment. RMV is now around $940 for a 2 bedroom with 850 sq ft. A little high. I enjoyed my time here. Very rewarding being in Papago Park and in a quiet neighborhood close to really anything.
