I went to CMD 6 days ago to have my Toyota Rav4 inspected. Let me give you some quick background info. My car is 11 years old. It is/was in great shape. I taken it to Toyota Dealerships to get the regular maintenance since I've owned the car. Since I have moved to Charlotte I have had two bad experiences each at a different Toyota Dealership. The first dealership I suspected altered 'something' and caused a sluggishness problem. The maintainence at second dealership left my car with a rotten eggs smell (claiming something about the car wash equipment), told me I needed new spark plugs and powersteering fluid (both done in 2015 in Dallas, TX Toyota) and told me my car was sluggish. Really okay. Disgusting because I know I wasn't having that problem until I took my car to the first dealership. So I did some research, heard a bunch of good things about CMD and decide to give them a try. They sounded positive on the phone and told me I could possibly have to wait a while in order for them to check out the car. Fine. I drive down there from North Charlotte with some of my paperwork from the dealerships I've been to. I showed them the paperwork and wanted to find out the cause of the sluggishness and to check if my car had be 'altered' in anyway. Particularly exhaust system. Both guys working at the desk are looking at me like I didn't belong there. They weren't smiling and everything was one word answers. No response to my attempt at small talk. They did a test drive almost immediately (even though the guy on the phone said I'd be waiting a while) told me nothing was wrong. It was like 'get the heck out of here with your car' attitude. I'm not sure if they were intimidated by the fact that I brought the paperwork from the dealership, or whether they don't like us folk from North Charlotte or what. I was very disappointed in the way they treated me. All I was trying to do was find a good mechanic to take care of my car so I could stop going to these bad Toyota dealerships.
