  • Schaffer's was the second place I went when I started trying on dresses. My consultant, Peyton, greeted me and my 3 guests when we arrived, and explained how the process would go. She asked my budget ($2,500) and explained that the dresses are sorted by price and showed me where my range would end (it looked like my budget gave me access to most of the selection, which was exciting!) She told us that we could start pulling as many dresses as we wanted, which was a huge relief. The previous bridal store I visited had given me a limit of 4 dresses that I could hand-pick without my bridal party. I was so worried that Schaffer's would be a little more "stuck-up" as they have some very nice dresses, but that was SO not the case. It was one of the most relaxed dress shopping experiences I had. Peyton put me at ease throughout the appointment, even when I was overwhelmed by the amount of dresses we had pulled, and explained that she would get me changed very quickly and make sure we were able to try them all on. The previous place I had been took about 10-15 minutes to get me in and out of each dress. Peyton got me in each dress and allowed me as much (or as little) time as I wanted to show my group or look at myself in the mirror. She was helpful, without prodding too much or asking a lot of overwhelming questions. She helped me understand that I didn't have to make myself like a dress if there were things I didn't like about it. Unfortunately, I didn't end up purchasing a dress at Schaffer's, but I wanted to so badly, simply based on the great service and experience I had with Peyton. I bought my dress at the next place I went, but I'm convinced that Peyton's helpfulness and subtle tips ultimately allowed me to make a decision. One thing I will mention is some advice for other brides who might be starting to dress shop: There was another group that arrived halfway through my appointment. The bride brought about 10 guests and the shop got LOUD. I could barely hear myself talk. This is absolutely not Schaffer's fault, as they do have a limit of 4 guests (I believe), but it is incredibly rude to other brides looking for their dress to have a disruptive, large group. The Schaffer's consultants handled it as best as they could, but I could sense it was a little frustrating on their end as well. Just something to keep in mind! Thank you again to Peyton and the Schaffer's team for a great experience. I'm hoping to come back to take a look at their bridesmaid dress options!
