  • I only lived here for 6 months, but the experience was alright. Pros: affordable rent compared to other apartments in Vegas. When I lived here, a one bedroom was under $600 a month before utilities. The location is convenient, especially if you go to UNLV or work on the strip. Despite being in the central area, the apartments were pretty quiet and safe at night. There's a sliding cutting board and sizeable pantry/closet in the kitchen. The bedrooms have walk in closets. It's a good first/starter apartment in my opinion. Cons: Naturally, the actual units don't look nearly as nice as the model unit. There are no two-toned walls or accent colors, the appliances are older, and honestly, the paint jobs could be better. Some of the kitchen cabinets had smears of white paint on them... I'm assuming whoever painted over the walls is more clumsy than the usual contracted painter. Also, there's no laundry in unit. If you don't mind using the laundry facilities on property, this isn't too big of an inconvenience though. My only real peeve is that maintenance can sometimes be disorganized and slow. Often times, I had to bother management and maintenance to get something done, even after I put in a documented work order at the leasing office. I've also had a few occasions where a maintenance worker would give a verbal agreement to go fix a problem several times, then never showed up to my apartment. When I first moved in, the vinyl in my bathroom had to be replaced due to some staining for unknown reasons. After miscommunications between management and maintenance, it wasn't finished until after a few days. And I had to keep calling the office to follow up with them and confirm that the job was actually going to be done. When one of the maintenance workers came to my unit, the job that I had been bothering the office about for 3 days only took him about 30 minutes to finish. Another time, there were really bad leaks in my bathroom. One under the counter and another behind the shower head. Maintenance came at first, but they didn't return until about a week later, resulting in the leaks only getting worse. The trimming on the bottom of the counter started peeling off, the bathroom smelled like mold, and there were bubbles forming in the vinyl from the leaks. My bathroom floor was flooded every hour and I had to keep replacing the towels I laid down. I figured I'd just wait patiently and try to be understanding since the leak was most likely happening throughout the entire building, but my bathroom didn't stop leaking until after a month. I understand that there are a lot of units in these apartments, but come on. The water damage and molding wouldn't have been nearly as bad if the problem was taken care of sooner. On average, I'd say each small work order(nothing major like having leaks or a broken AC) I put in took a week to fix. And that's if someone from the leasing office even put in a work order for you. Overall: Like I've said before, it's a good starter apartment. It's affordable, relatively close to everything, and safe. But Viridian might benefit from hiring more maintenance workers to complete all of the work orders in a timely manner. Aside from that, all of the staff and residents here are usually friendly and easy to talk to. Despite the few bad days I had, I never felt regret while living here.
