  • I have been meaning to write this review for months... but... I'm lazy. Really no other excuse. Haha!! My family has been a loyal customer to Oliver Smith Jeweler for yearsssss (even back to when they were "Smith Fine Jewelers" complete with green carpet, treasure chest full of toys for my brothers and I to play with, and complimentary nail files... which we always brought home and clued my mother into the type of gift she was soon to receive.) Since then, the relationship with the company and my family has only grown stronger, but unfortunately my brothers and I have outgrown the toy chest. Recently, both my eldest brother and I have become engaged. (Not together. That's gross.) Not only did my brother go to Oliver to purchase his GORGEOUS engagement ring for his fantastic fiancee, but my fiance (who doesn't even LIVE in Arizona, we live in LA!) knew to go there too! Living in a different state, the logistics of purchasing an engagement ring were a bit more complicated for my fiance. However, Oliver guided my fiance through the entire process of selecting a ring, even though he was in another state. The result was breathtaking. Absolutely gorgeous. When I came into town to size my ring, the service I got from Oliver's staff was impeccable. Specifically Julia has literally been a saint. There were several minor changes (though as "minor" as they seemed to me, a completely ignorant person when it comes to the art of jewelry, I learned my requests weren't exactly as "easy" as it would seem to the average layman.) that I wanted to make. Julia never made me feel like I was being a "diva" or asking anything out of the ordinary. She was ridiculously kind and helpful, not to mention hilarious and an awesome person. I actually found myself enjoying spending time in the jewelry store just to hang out with her and my mom! hahah My ring turned out SPECTACULAR after many lovely visits with Julia and Oliver. I was recently in town and wanted to poke my head into the store and possibly get my ring cleaned. Lucky me, Julia was there and we got another brief visit! Then Steve, another fabulous employee, came out and offered to clean my ring. Turns out I had bent the ring into an ovalish shape... (he said it could mean that the ring had been a tad too big, or I had done something too strenuous with the platinum band) so he offered to reshape and resize free of charge! (I was going back out of state the very next day, so I was sad, but ok with the fact, that I would have to leave my ring to be fixed.) I literally had no time to mope, because Steve immediately informed me that the ring would be ready for pick up in a matter of hours. These people are incredible. If you're looking for a cheap, semi-sparkly something... Oliver Smith Jeweler is not for you. However, if you are looking for a quality, meaningful, exquisite piece that represents you... this is your place. The gems are top notch, the customer service is out-of-this-world, and the results are absolutely unmatchable. Though the treasure chest of toys is gone... they have replaced it with an impressive bowl of every candy you can dream of. And I'm totally ok with that.
