  • Three Speed is a cute place on the south side of Bloor near Dufferin. They eschew any high-brow-ness, hoity-toity-ness, or trend following. It's a place instead to relax, meet your friends, and have fun. It manages to be "home style" while still feeling fresh. At the bar, there is an impressive selection of domestic and local beer, both in bottles and on tap. Not many imports -- eg, no Belgians etc... completely in keeping with the style of the place. There are also mixed drinks, but your martini will not come in a martini glass, but just an ordinary glass. I didn't try anything from the kitchen, but it looked like fairly standard pub fare. There is plenty of seating inside and at the bar, and there's also a cute backyard patio. Overall, a solid institution.
